3. My Step-by-Step Studio Application & Styling Routine
In Part 3 of our guide to Opening night at the ballet, let’s talk hands-on technique.
You don’t need a professional backstage kit if you layer your prep in the right order.

Pin Look
How I Recreate It in Under 15 Minutes
Start with a smooth, matte base.
Use a pore-blurring primer and a long-wear foundation, then set with a translucent powder, especially around your T-zone.
For the eyes, stick to a smoky charcoal or deep plum shadow.
And finish with a bold red lip that’s transfer-proof; I always blot and reapply twice.
When you slip into those heels, do a quick break-in walk around the house an hour before you leave.
This prevents blisters and helps you stride with confidence.
Add a swipe of high-shine gloss on your lips right before the doors open, and you’re set.
