2. Customizing Undertones, Shades & Proportions
Welcome to Part 2 of my breakdown on Opening night at the ballet.
Before you lock in your final formula or outfit pairing, here is how I adapt the tones and textures for each client.

Finding Your Most Flattering Version
If you have warm undertones, swap the fire-engine red for a brick or tomato red.
It’ll pop against your skin without clashing.
For cooler undertones, a blue-based crimson or cherry red is your best friend, especially under those theater lights.
Texture matters too: a satin dress with glossy patent pumps creates a luxe contrast.
While matte red suede heels soften the look for a more romantic vibe.
Play with proportions a midi dress with pointed-toe heels elongates your legs.
While a mini with ankle-strap pumps adds a playful edge.
✦ Which Finish Fits Your Vibe?
- Velvet Rose-Gold Glow: Effortless, soft-focus dimension that flatters every skin tone in daytime or candlelight.
- High-Impact Statement Finish: Crisp lines, rich pigment payoff, and bold contrast for evening events or street-style photos.
- Balanced Proportions: Keep one feature bold while letting the surrounding textures stay airy and breathable.
