3. My Step-by-Step Studio Application & Styling Routine
In Part 3 of our guide to Sticky Eyeliner, let’s talk hands-on technique.
You don’t need a professional backstage kit if you layer your prep in the right order.

How I Recreate It in Under 15 Minutes
Start with a clean, primed lid—I use a tacky eye primer, not a silicone one, to give the liner something to grab.
Then, dip a fine angled brush into your sticky gel liner and tap it into the lash line in short, feathery strokes, building the wing outward.
Let it sit for 30 seconds to become tacky before you layer anything over it.
For prom, I always set the liner with a matching shadow using a pressing motion.
This locks the color and adds a subtle matte finish if you want it.
Then, I go back with a tiny brush and re-trace the wing to crisp it up.
It sounds like extra steps, but it takes under two minutes and makes the difference between ‘pretty’ and ‘photo-ready.’
