2. Customizing Undertones, Shades & Proportions
Welcome to Part 2 of my breakdown on la mercerie – Bikinis & Passports.
Before you lock in your final formula or outfit pairing, here is how I adapt the tones and textures for each client.

Finding Your Most Flattering Version
For warm undertones, go for a tomato-red or coral-based patent; for cooler skin, a blue-based crimson pops beautifully.
If you’re petite, a pointed toe and a 3-inch heel elongate the leg.
Skip block heels unless you’re going for a casual vibe.
Texture matters too: patent leather is dressy.
While suede feels softer for daytime.
And don’t be afraid to play with proportions pair a chunky heel with wide-leg trousers.
Or a stiletto with a midi skirt for balance.
✦ Which Finish Fits Your Vibe?
- Velvet Rose-Gold Glow: Effortless, soft-focus dimension that flatters every skin tone in daytime or candlelight.
- High-Impact Statement Finish: Crisp lines, rich pigment payoff, and bold contrast for evening events or street-style photos.
- Balanced Proportions: Keep one feature bold while letting the surrounding textures stay airy and breathable.
