2. Customizing Undertones, Shades & Proportions
Welcome to Part 2 of my breakdown on Jennifer Aniston's Handbags Are Like Good Friends — She's Got a Go-To For Every Situation.
Before you lock in your final formula or outfit pairing, here is how I adapt the tones and textures for each client.

Finding Your Most Flattering Version
For cool undertones (like Jennifer’s), I’d stick with a blue-based red.
Think cherry or crimson and pair it with a rosy nude lip.
If you’re warmer, go for a brick or terracotta red and a peachy beige gloss to keep harmony.
The key is to match the red’s undertone to your skin’s undertone, not the dress.
Texture matters too: patent leather pumps scream evening glam, while suede or matte red heels feel more daytime-chic.
Adjust your makeup accordingly—patent calls for a dewy highlight, suede begs for a matte finish.
And if you’re wearing a heel with ankle straps, keep your eye makeup minimal so the eye doesn’t compete with the hardware.
✦ Which Finish Fits Your Vibe?
- Velvet Rose-Gold Glow: Effortless, soft-focus dimension that flatters every skin tone in daytime or candlelight.
- High-Impact Statement Finish: Crisp lines, rich pigment payoff, and bold contrast for evening events or street-style photos.
- Balanced Proportions: Keep one feature bold while letting the surrounding textures stay airy and breathable.
