Keeping That Backstage-Fresh Glow
To keep butterfly locs fresh, I tell clients to wrap them in a silk scarf at night and gently separate any curls that clump together.
A quick spritz of water and oil on the scalp every few days prevents dryness without weighing the locs down.
For touch-ups, you can re-curl the ends with flexi rods and hot water—just dip them briefly to reset the curl.
This style is forgiving, so it’ll look great for weeks with minimal fuss.
But I recommend a refresh at the 4-week mark to keep the edges neat.
