2. Customizing Undertones, Shades & Proportions

Before you lock in your final formula or outfit pairing, here is how I adapt the tones and textures for each client.

Finding Your Most Flattering Version
For warmer undertones, I’d lean into golden honey or caramel highlights woven through the braid.
It picks up light and mimics a sun-kissed glow.
Cooler undertones pop with ash-brown or deep burgundy strands.
Which add contrast without clashing with your skin’s pink or blue base.
Texture-wise, if your curls are fine, keep the braid loose and slightly messy; if they’re coarse, go for a tighter, rope-style braid for more definition.
And don’t be afraid to mix in a few flat twists or a crown braid.
It changes the proportion and makes the style feel custom, not cookie-cutter.
✦ Which Finish Fits Your Vibe?
- Velvet Rose-Gold Glow: Effortless, soft-focus dimension that flatters every skin tone in daytime or candlelight.
- High-Impact Statement Finish: Crisp lines, rich pigment payoff, and bold contrast for evening events or street-style photos.
- Balanced Proportions: Keep one feature bold while letting the surrounding textures stay airy and breathable.
