In Part 3 of our guide to Women's Work Wear on Amazon, let’s talk hands-on technique.
You don’t need a professional backstage kit if you layer your prep in the right order.

How I Recreate It in Under 15 Minutes
When I style a client for a shoot or a big presentation, I start with the shoes and build up.
I’ll have them walk around the studio for a few minutes to break in the pair and check for any rubbing points.
That’s when I apply a little balm to the heel.
Then I match the shoe’s finish to the outfit’s texture: matte shoes with matte fabrics, glossy with smoother materials.
I also make sure the shoe’s silhouette balances the hemline.
If you’re wearing wide-leg trousers, a pointed toe elongates the leg; with a pencil skirt, a classic pump or a d’Orsay flat keeps lines clean.
It’s all about proportion and making sure the shoe doesn’t fight the outfit.
