How I Recreate It in Under 15 Minutes
When I’m styling a client in red kitten heels, I always start with the shoes—they anchor the whole outfit.
I’ll have them stand in the heels for a few minutes to break them in, then build the look from there.
For a classic outfit, I’ll pair them with straight-leg trousers that hit just above the ankle, so the heel gets its moment.
If it’s a dress, I’ll make sure the hem grazes the top of the shoe, not the ankle bone—that keeps the leg line long.
My go-to tool for this is a simple shoe horn and a soft cloth to wipe any scuffs.
I also recommend a gel pad inside the toe box if they’re between sizes—it prevents slipping and makes the heel feel like a custom fit.
And always, always do a quick test walk on carpet before you hit the hardwood.
