2. Customizing Undertones, Shades & Proportions
Welcome to Part 2 of my breakdown on Red kitten heels and denim.
Before you lock in your final formula or outfit pairing, here is how I adapt the tones and textures for each client.

Pin Look
Finding Your Most Flattering Version
If your skin runs cool or pink, swap the red for a brick or cherry tone with blue undertones.
It’ll make your teeth look whiter and your denim pop.
For olive or deep complexions, go for a true fire-engine red or a wine-tinged shade; it adds warmth without washing you out.
Texture-wise, patent leather is my go-to for a night out.
But matte suede in the same red feels more daytime and pairs beautifully with ripped denim.
If you’re petite, keep the heel at 2 inches and let the ankle show.
It lengthens the leg without the wobble of a stiletto.
✦ Which Finish Fits Your Vibe?
- Velvet Rose-Gold Glow: Effortless, soft-focus dimension that flatters every skin tone in daytime or candlelight.
- High-Impact Statement Finish: Crisp lines, rich pigment payoff, and bold contrast for evening events or street-style photos.
- Balanced Proportions: Keep one feature bold while letting the surrounding textures stay airy and breathable.
