2. Customizing Undertones, Shades & Proportions
Welcome to Part 2 of my breakdown on masquerade ball.
Before you lock in your final formula or outfit pairing, here is how I adapt the tones and textures for each client.

Pin Look
Finding Your Most Flattering Version
For warm undertones, I’d swap the cool taupe shadows for bronze and copper.
And add a peachy blush to keep everything glowing.
Cool undertones? Go for rose-gold and mauve shadows with a soft berry lip.
It creates a striking contrast against the mask.
Texture-wise, I love a satin finish for the base.
It photographs beautifully and catches light without looking greasy.
If you’re feeling bold, press a little loose glitter on the inner corners; it’s subtle enough for a prom yet festive for a masquerade.
✦ Which Finish Fits Your Vibe?
- Velvet Rose-Gold Glow: Effortless, soft-focus dimension that flatters every skin tone in daytime or candlelight.
- High-Impact Statement Finish: Crisp lines, rich pigment payoff, and bold contrast for evening events or street-style photos.
- Balanced Proportions: Keep one feature bold while letting the surrounding textures stay airy and breathable.
