2. Customizing Undertones, Shades & Proportions
Welcome to Part 2 of my breakdown on How to Be Parisian… • Lauren Elyce.
Before you lock in your final formula or outfit pairing, here is how I adapt the tones and textures for each client.

Finding Your Most Flattering Version
For fair-to-light skin with cool undertones, stick to rosy nudes and taupe shadows.
They mimic that natural flush Parisians nail.
If you’re deeper or warmer, swap the taupe for a bronze or copper and choose a peachy-nude lip to keep the same effortless vibe.
Texture-wise, go for a satin-finish foundation instead of full matte.
It photographs like skin and lasts through back-to-back meetings.
And if you’re oily, just powder the T-zone and leave the cheeks dewy; that contrast is what makes the look feel expensive, not overdone.
✦ Which Finish Fits Your Vibe?
- Velvet Rose-Gold Glow: Effortless, soft-focus dimension that flatters every skin tone in daytime or candlelight.
- High-Impact Statement Finish: Crisp lines, rich pigment payoff, and bold contrast for evening events or street-style photos.
- Balanced Proportions: Keep one feature bold while letting the surrounding textures stay airy and breathable.
Always check how the finish and proportions look in both natural window light and warm indoor lighting so the result feels effortless from every angle.
