2. Customizing Undertones, Shades & Proportions
Welcome to Part 2 of my breakdown on Ethereal Tresses#Nebula Strands#Astral Locks.
Before you lock in your final formula or outfit pairing, here is how I adapt the tones and textures for each client.

Pin Look
Finding Your Most Flattering Version
For cool undertones, I lean into silver or icy-blue ribbon woven through the braid.
And for warm undertones, I swap in champagne or rose-gold threads.
If your client has fine hair, I’ll add a few clip-in extensions before braiding to give the style body without looking bulky.
Texture matters too: on straight hair, I’ll spritz sea salt spray and rough-dry for grip.
But on naturally curly hair, I’ll stretch the curls with a paddle brush and use a lighter hold to keep the ethereal frizz in check.
Adjust the braid size—looser for bohemian, tighter for a more polished celestial look.
✦ Which Finish Fits Your Vibe?
- Velvet Rose-Gold Glow: Effortless, soft-focus dimension that flatters every skin tone in daytime or candlelight.
- High-Impact Statement Finish: Crisp lines, rich pigment payoff, and bold contrast for evening events or street-style photos.
- Balanced Proportions: Keep one feature bold while letting the surrounding textures stay airy and breathable.
Always check how the finish and proportions look in both natural window light and warm indoor lighting so the result feels effortless from every angle.
