2. Customizing Undertones, Shades & Proportions
Welcome to Part 2 of my breakdown on Alivia | Pastel Yellow Ruffle Tiered A-Line Long Party Prom Dress.
Before you lock in your final formula or outfit pairing, here is how I adapt the tones and textures for each client.

Finding Your Most Flattering Version
If you have cool undertones, swap the peach for a rose-gold blush and a lilac-toned highlight.
It’ll keep the yellow from turning your skin sallow.
For deeper skin tones, I love a rich terracotta blush and a golden-bronze shimmer to add warmth and dimension.
Texture matters too: a dewy finish works for a garden party.
But for a formal prom, I’d go with a soft-matte base and only add shine to the high points of your face.
That way, you’re glowing in photos without looking shiny under ballroom lights.
✦ Which Finish Fits Your Vibe?
- Velvet Rose-Gold Glow: Effortless, soft-focus dimension that flatters every skin tone in daytime or candlelight.
- High-Impact Statement Finish: Crisp lines, rich pigment payoff, and bold contrast for evening events or street-style photos.
- Balanced Proportions: Keep one feature bold while letting the surrounding textures stay airy and breathable.
Always check how the finish and proportions look in both natural window light and warm indoor lighting so the result feels effortless from every angle.
