2. Customizing Undertones, Shades & Proportions
Welcome to Part 2 of my breakdown on 2025 prom dresses.
Before you lock in your final formula or outfit pairing, here is how I adapt the tones and textures for each client.

Finding Your Most Flattering Version
If you have warm undertones, lean into champagne, blush, or terracotta hues.
They’ll make your skin glow like you’ve just stepped out of a golden hour.
Cool undertones? Jewel tones like emerald, sapphire.
Or icy blue will pop beautifully against your complexion.
Texture matters too—if you’re curvier, try a structured corset top with a flowing tulle skirt to balance proportions.
For petite frames, a high-low hem or a slit adds length without overwhelming.
And don’t be afraid to mix textures, like satin bodice with sequined skirt, for a custom feel.
✦ Which Finish Fits Your Vibe?
- Velvet Rose-Gold Glow: Effortless, soft-focus dimension that flatters every skin tone in daytime or candlelight.
- High-Impact Statement Finish: Crisp lines, rich pigment payoff, and bold contrast for evening events or street-style photos.
- Balanced Proportions: Keep one feature bold while letting the surrounding textures stay airy and breathable.
